Equestrian Club "Karlovac" had been established in 1967, and members and visitors of all ages have been spending time with approximately 50 horses in a green oasis along river Korana. Riding schools, starting from children, follow the principle "All animals are entitled to love and happyness as I am!". Spending time with horses through work and games also improves health.
As of 2001, Equestrian Club "Karlovac" also provides recreational riding for therapeutic purposes. It is used for rehabilitation of persons physically and/or mentally challenged in order to make them more independent and facilitate their involvement in everyday life. The program is undertaken under surveillance of club experts and physiotherapists, sociologists and educators.
Equestrian Club "Fany" in Vukmanićki Cerovac promotes horseback riding as a sport and return to nature on its estate and meadows along Korana, and it also promotes a healthy life style. In a relaxed atmosphere with playful animals, one develops a sense of responsibility and caring for other creatures, but also increases self-confidence, patience… You can also take a ride in a hackney-carriage, take a walk in the woods and along the river, as well as enjoy tasteful meals prepared by the hosts.
Horses on the Ranch Jelov klanac near Rakovica, which is run by Iris croatica and Equestrian Club "Equs croaticus" drink directly from the well, move unrestrainedly in vivid nature and enjoy the love not only of their owners, but also of attendees of the horseback riding school. Excursions lasting several days or tracking tours and terrain riding with a guide along the edge of Natural Park Plitvička Jezera, are a challenge for more experienced guests.
Equestrian Club "Barilo" near Barilovići offers pension for horses, a horseback riding school, terrain and therapeutic horseback riding and one-day trips to wonderful landscapes around Skradska gora, Korana and Mrežnica. Horseback riders are taken to warm water well Mlakovac, walled-in deep water well Čatrnja, Roman "chest" carved in limescale in Srdići... Also, on your way back, it is a pleasure to take a swim in Korana and have a good time with good companions.
